Three Critically Injured After Being Involved In Head On Collision With Tanker Resulting In Explosion.

Auto accidents, by themselves, are already serious. When you add on what a fuel tanker may be carrying, they become even more serious with the added risk of that flammable material catching on fire. The added risk of carrying fuel is a necessary one since the fuel needs to get from one location to another so that society can continue to move. However, when a fuel tanker is involved in an accident, there is a high probability that the accident can go from serious to deadly in a matter of minutes. If you’re unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident that results in an explosion, and you are hurt, then you can turn to an experienced explosion accident attorney here at the Law Offices of Gilbert R. Hoy, Jr. and Affiliates to help you begin the complicated litigation process.

At least three people were critically injured after a fuel tanker exploded last week following a head-on collision on a highway in central Uganda. A Ugandan Police Spokesperson released a statement that said the huge explosion occurred following a head-on collision between the fuel tanker and a truck in the central Ugandan district of Mpigi. The two vehicles overturned when the fuel tanker tried to avoid a head-on collision with the truck that was carrying green bananas and charcoal, resulting in an explosion and stopping traffic for hours.

It took the Ugandan fire brigade and rescue services more than two hours to put out the fire which resulted from the explosion. The three critically-burnt victims were on life support at the Rubaga Hospital in capital Kampala. This accident comes as no surprise in Uganda as they register on average at least 20,000 accidents with over 2,000 deaths each year, making it one of the countries with the highest road accident fatality rates in the world.
